S ZorbTM Sulfur Removal Technology (S ZorbTM SRT) was originally developed and commercialized by Phillips Petroleum Company, and SINOPEC buy it in July 2007. S ZorbTM SRT is designed to remove sulfur from full range naphtha, from as high as 2000渭g/g feed sulfur, to as low as <10渭g/g product sulfur, in one single step with high liquid yield and high Octane Number retention.
The valves installed between the reactor, lock hopper and regenerator are operated frequently, the service life of the previous USA imported anti-corrosion ball valves is only about six(6) to eight(8) months due to the high temperature, high abrasion, and the leakage is also required to be Class VI to avoid explosion.
But since SINOPEC Shanghai Gaoqiao Company installed a 3鈥?x2鈥?600LB Ceramics Seated Ball Valve in Mar 2013 as a trial valve, they are currently enjoying the benefits. This 3鈥漻2鈥?600LB ceramic ball valve was supplied to handle Sorbent/H2+Hydrocarbon at max. 580鈩? the medium is extremely aggressive at such temperature. Up to now, 18 months have passed and this valve is still in service.
Considering the severe conditions, the ball and two seats are made from high strength ceramics, all the elastomeric materials were not allowed in our ceramic ball valve, besides we use graphite as the sealing material. The structure of the stem sealing was also improved to fulfill the requirements of this severe applications. Thanks to the extremely low coefficient of expansion of the ceramics, the varying amounts of expansion have no harm to the valve鈥檚 safety and operation.
